MEET SUNBURST INTERIORS

We have specialised in all aspects of the small space interior from boats to caravans and motor homes, from shepherd huts to small rooms in houses.
We believe every interior is unique, and the layout, design and choice of material is paramount. We primarily choose to use English or European timber, such as oak, ash, chestnut, yew and elm, alongside reclaimed teak, or other timbers. Contrasting materials including Richlite, copper sheet and plywoods help create exciting designs.
ABOUT ME
My name is Andrew Colyer. I run Sunburst Interiors, working either on my own or collaboration with other specialists on larger projects.
I have lived and worked extensively in the small space world for over two decades, living on the inland waterways on a variety of boats. I now live by the coast in South Devon.
Both my father and grandfather were master craftsman, working with wood and silver. They instilled a love for detail and quality of finish which is forefront in my work. I had always spent as much time as possible in my father’s workshop, with my brother. We even built a successful digeridoo business!
After art college, and whilst at university I moved into a small narrowboat which I converted with my father’s help.
My passion for woodwork and boats grew. I worked on wooden narrowboats, coastal boats and latterly for a Dutch barge builder helping to make some of the most beautiful Dutch barges in the country. Alongside the boat work I also began to transfer these skills to restoration and conversion of vintage vehicles and modern vans.
Travel with my family is also an important part of my life. We travel in our converted motorhome, and have back-packed through many countries. This is a big influence in my work.
